Winter magic

What a moist summer! Marine layers day after day. Now the rains are coming. Does this mean a really wet winter (versus the normal ho-hum stuff)? Of course, the ocean starts to stir. The storm winds, often far way,  are responsible for wave action. The longer the “fetch,” the distance wind travels across water, the more likely bigger wave action at the shore. Here on the Left Coast the wind can travel hundreds, or even thousands, of miles without any interruption, pushing the water around the whole time! So wave energy can get a pretty good head of steam up by the time it hits the coast. And it makes for some awesome waves, a worthy sight for this clam’s buggy eyes. So let’s all enjoy this noteable time.
